Week of January 9 - 13

 Hello Grade One Families!

 What a lovely week we had last week as everyone shared their holiday stories and got back into the routines of the school day. 

 Please note the following:

 Topics for January and February

  • the community of Richmond ~ its diversity, jobs, recreation etc.
  • how light and sound are made and how they can be changed
  • paragraph writing ~ the structure of putting several ideas about the same topic together
  • ch/th/sh/wh and ing
  • constructing and deconstructing two digit numbers into tens and ones
  • concepts of addition and subtraction

 Looking Ahead

 January 20 ~ Assembly led by Grade One and Grade Four students

 January 25 ~ celebration of the Feast of St. Paul beginning with Mass at 11:00am and followed by community lunch in the gym

 January 27 ~ dress-down day "Cozy Winter Clothes"

 February 1-3 ~ Scholastic Book Fair in the school library
