Week of March 6 - 10

Hi Kindergarten Families,

This week the kinders continued to learn about "Where We Live" for our Social Studies unit. They identified that they live in the continent of North America, the country of Canada and the province of British Columbia! And in Religion, we started to learn the "Hail Mary" prayer with actions.

This week was also the beginning of the liturgical season of Lent. Starting with Ash Wednesday the children prepared themselves in class for Lent by learning about Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving. On Thursday, Father Mark came for a visit. He brought the Lent Mite Boxes and talked more about Lent and in particular, Almsgiving. With their buddies on Friday, they reflected on ways to be more like Jesus though these three pillars of Lent. It was wonderful to see some of the children attend Morning Lenten Mass. We are all encouraged to attend 8:15 am Morning Mass for the season of Lent!

Reminder, during Lent there will be no Friday morning assemblies.

This week is last week before Spring Break! We hope you have a restful and exciting break! School will be closed March 13th-24th and our first day back is March 27th!
