Week of April 17 - 21

 Hello Grade One Families!

Happy Easter! I hope that you all had a wonderful celebration of the Lord's resurrection yesterday with your families. We now enter into the joyful season of Easter filled with renewed life in our faith and our journey to the Father in heaven.

Thank-you to everyone who has registered for the Student-Led Conferences on Friday! This is a day to celebrate your child's accomplishments and an opportunity for them to share and show some of what we have been doing in the classroom. There will be several stations to visit during your half-hour appointment. The Grade Ones are very excited to share a peek into their school life. This is your child's time in the classroom with you so please make child-care arrangements for preschool age siblings. Also, please note that this time is scheduled for you and your child to enjoy together, so although I will be in the classroom, there are no parent/teacher meetings during this time. At the end of your time in the classroom, there will be a "Parent Pride Wall" upon which you can write one thing that makes you particularly proud of your child. This will be treasured by the class for these last few months of Grade One. I am looking forward to seeing all of you on Friday!

Please note the following for this week:

  • no school for Easter Monday

  • school resumes at 8:45am
  • Tuesday sharing group

  • no PE class because of a badminton tournament in our gym
  • Wednesday sharing group

  • return library books
  • Friday sharing group will share today

  • no regular classes because it is conference day
  • please arrive at your scheduled appointment time
  • students must wear their school uniform
  • please note that we do finish the day promptly at 5:30pm so if you have the last appointment of the day and do not want to feel rushed, please feel free to arrive a few minutes early

 Looking Ahead

On April 27 we will have "Team Spirit Day" at St. Paul School. Students do not need to wear their school uniform. They may wear uniforms from teams they play on, St. Paul School t-shirts and Spirit Wear, or t-shirts/jerseys from professional sports teams. While choosing your child's clothes for this day please keep in mind that part of our field trip will be outside. Thank-you!

Please e-mail me at nkelly@stpaulschool.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a super week! See you on Friday!
