Week of October 23 - 27

 Hello Grade One Families!

Teachers, teachers everywhere! I was privileged to attend a teachers' conference today with thousands of other teachers from across the province. Having a new curriculum leads to many interesting opportunities to change the way we look at learning and how we give students experiences that can help them to develop their curiosity about the world and their own learning. I am so blessed to have such a great group of children to work with as we all help our brains to stretch and grow!

Thank-you to everyone who has already registered for the conferences on Friday October 27. Just a reminder that the Grade One students do not attend the conferences this time.

Looking ahead to the upcoming week, please note the following:

  • the students will attend a presentation entitled "Safer Schools" before recess
  • PE class
  • hot lunch for those who ordered
  • Social Media Awareness Parent Information Evening at 7:00pm at St. Joseph the Worker School ~ please attend if you can!

  • another wonderful Grade One day :)

  • school Mass at 11:00am ~ please join us!
  • PE class

  • last day to return library books

  • no regular classes
  • please arrive on time for your conference which will be held in the Parish Centre gym ~ thank-you!

Halloween is coming! Please plan costumes without masks, weapons or face paint. Treats are welcome and need to be individually wrapped because the students will be bringing them home to enjoy. As part of our theme, "Care for Everyone in Our Common Home", please send a donation for Development and Peace on this day as well.

Please e-mail me at nkelly@stpaulschool.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a super weekend and week ahead! I am looking forward to seeing you on Friday!

 Mrs. Kelly
