Hello parents,
On Friday the Grade Seven’s and their Kindergarten buddies finished collaborating on their Advent wreaths (pictured above).
You can see where the Kinder’s lent a helping “hand” 🙂
The students are reminded to continue completing the daily tasks for the Advent calendar that went home last week. Personally, I really enjoyed yesterday’s activity: “Clean your room and the play area.”
May the ‘peace’ of Christ be with you on this 2nd Sunday of Advent!
A Wheel Good Time
This week, the Prize Wheel was reintroduced at our school assembly.
This means we are handing out CARE cards. Students who are ‘caught’ being courteous, accountable, responsible and/or empathetic receive a yellow CARE card that then goes into a draw at each assembly. This week, our very own, Matthias Lau, had his name drawn and he had a spin – well done, Matthias!
Current Projects
This week we began our Infancy Narrative Stop Motion video and Coraline drama videos using green screen technology to communicate our insights about the events surrounding Jesus’ birth and chapter 10 of Coraline, respectively. Thank you for supporting your children with art materials and costume items for these respective projects. We look forward to sharing them with you (via Google Classroom) during the last week of schools!
Grade Seven Advent Party
Just a reminder that this Thursday, December 9th from 12 – 2pm is our Grade 7 Advent Party. No lunch needed that day, just Christmas cheer… and a recess snack 🙂
Advent Choral Service
We will still be moving ahead with our Advent Choral Service, but we had to change a few things to keep within the new guidelines set by the government.
Details about this school event will be sent by Ms. Moorehead next week.
We are excited to share music and scripture with you as we prepare for the birth of our saviour!
Rock Band Practice Schedule This Week
To that end, Rock Band will be performing several songs at the Advent Choral Service and we have two practices remaining. For those students who participate in Rock Band, we will be rehearsing this Wednesday December 8th @ 7:30am and Thursday December 9th @ 7:30am.
Thank you for supporting these early morning practices – they are sounding great and I look forward to you hearing the fruits of their labour!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mr. Kirkham
