This week, we celebrated our 100th Day of School! The students made 100th Day crowns, crafted cereal necklaces using 100 Frootloops, and imagined what they would look like at 100 years old. One hundred thanks to you, parents, for your support in helping your children with their one-derful projects! The past 100 days of school have flown by and we look forward to counting onwards!
We also began the season of Lent this week, on Ash Wednesday. Kindergarten started their Lenten Journey by thoughtfully giving up something meaningful to them for the 40 days of Lent as a reminder of all the sacrifices Jesus made for us. Ms. Guevara and I look forward to making this Lenten journey with your children as they grow closer to Christ through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.

- Lent Calendar- For each day of Lent, Kindergarten has been colouring in a box on their Lent Story Calendar. On Friday, your child will be taking home their calendar to fill out over Spring Break. Please put this sheet somewhere your child will see (i.e. refrigerator, desk, etc.) and remember to colour in one box for each day of Lent during Spring Break. Please return this sheet to school after the break so that the children can continue along their Lenten journey in class!
- “My Read Well” book– Please review the letter of the week and use the “Parent Prompt” questions (found on the bottom of the page) with your child.
- If you notice that your child has not finished the back of their Letter Record page in class, please brainstorm with them three words that begin with that letter. Then, have them write down the three words on the dotted lines and draw their corresponding pictures in the blank box.
Friendly Reminders:
- Homework folders– These will continue to be sent home every day. Please check the folders daily and send them back to school every day as your child is expected to hand them in each morning.
- Lenten School Mass – It’s been wonderful seeing so many of you at morning Mass! Please continue to do your best to attend.
- Scholastic Reading Club– A new Scholastic flyer for March was placed in your child’s homework folder this week! If you would like to order (optional), please enter Kindergarten’s class code RC498336 at checkout so that we can receive rewards for our classroom! Thank you in advance for your support.
