Hi Grade One Families,
This week the children had SNOW much fun playing in the snow outside, and in the classroom they began learning all about Advent. We now find ourselves at the beginning of the second week of Advent. This is traditionally the week of peace or the week of preparation. It is time to take a moment…many moments…to seek peace in time spent with the Lord.
Only two weeks to go! At this time of the year we are flexible and prepared for changes in our schedule to accommodate special events and the extra time that it takes very excited children to do their activities and assignments in class. Advent is a wonderful time to be blessed to be a teacher of young children!
A friendly reminder that donations for St. Paul’s Advent Charity Project for 2022 supporting Blanket BC Society are asked to be brought in this week. Blanket BC collects warm blankets (new or gently used) as well as new toques, gloves/mittens, scarves, and socks for children and adults. Along with any new or gently used blankets, the Grade 1 class has been asked to bring in a new Children’s toque.
Grade 1 Advent Calendars have been sent home with all students. Please take a look inside your child’s agenda to see some of Grade 1’s acts of kindness and small sacrifices they can make to become closer to Jesus. We also have our Advent celebration this coming Thursday. Looking forward to seeing many of you there!
