  • Advent and the Names of Jesus
  • signs of God’s presence
  • Open Parachute: “Anger Management and Support Strategies”
  • persuasive writing (creating paragraphs, presentations, ads etc.)
  • developing reading comprehension skills by exploring the transformation of the characters and how books can transform the reader
  • the commutative and distributive properties of multiplication
  • multiplication and division of two and three digit numbers
  • using prior mathematical knowledge to solve word problems
  • identifying, building, and testing simple machines
  • responsibilities of various levels of Canadian government: municipal, provincial and federal

Ways to support learning at home: 

  • practice multiplication facts to 12 x 12 to support two and three digit multiplication and division
  • encourage your child to read for 15 – 30 minutes each day
  • remind your child to check the Grade 5 Google Classroom for announcements
  • help your child to complete any other work that may be assigned to them for home practice (you will be informed of this via email)
