On Fridays, your child will be writing a letter to you to tell you what they have learned and done in school. You are welcome to write back to your child on the reverse side of the letter. Please keep the pages in the folder and return it to school before the following Friday.
These letters will be written personally by your children and often unedited by an adult. Friday letters provide an opportunity for your child to express themselves and to communicate with you in a special way. It is not intended to be marked or assessed. Please rest assured that writing conventions and editing are still taught in class.
At the end of the year, you will have a compilation of letters from your child and they will have letters from you! These letters will be saved in the duo tang and filled with memories and examples of your child’s writing growth.
I hope you enjoy reading them as much as they enjoy writing them!
