Grade 6

Week of Oct. 19-23

Dear Grade Six Families,

Even though it has been a short week, it certainly has been a busy week. The students have worked on peer-editing their expository essay on Residential Schools and I am looking forward to reading their papers. In French class, we looked at the new Canadian Food Guide and discussed that half of the Food Guide is more plant based (légumes et fruits), one quarter is protein and the other quarter is whole grains. Everyday, I tell the students I want to see whole foods (not empty calories) that will bring good nutrients to their bodies – the foods they choose should come from trees or the ground.
