This past week saw us busily preparing for our first assembly of the year with our Kindergarten buddies. In fact, it will be the first class-led assembly since March of 2020!
We will be recognizing the Feast of the Archangels, as well as a short presentation about National Truth and Reconciliation Day (Orange Shirt Day) 2021 to honour the indigenous victims and survivors of residential schools. This will be followed by the Grade 7’s receiving their Grad hoodies! Students are asked to wear an orange shirt today as we will not be in school the following day. Students are asked to bring $2 for this dress down for the Orange Shirt Society (See the last Thursday letter from Ms. Moorehead for more info).
While you are unable to attend in person due to capacity rules, you will be able to view the assembly via streaming. A link will be sent out.
This coming week, September 27th – October 1st, have the following important dates:
Wednesday Sept 29 – Gr 7 & Kindergarten-Led Assembly + Wear Orange
Thursday Sept 30 – National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (NO SCHOOL)
Friday October 1 – Walkathon (12:30pm DISMISSAL)
Have a wonderful week!
