Hello, Grade 7 Families,
We had a special guest visit the school yesterday, His Grace Archbishop Michael Miller.
Following the school assembly, the Archbishop met with the Grade Seven class and “tested” their knowledge of essential Catholic teachings such as the Cardinal/Theological virtues, the Triduum, and scripture. The students really demonstrated their knowledge in confidently answering and discussing these questions. Well done! The Archbishop will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Paul on May 8.
His current parish visit will extend through this weekend and he will be celebrating Mass on Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at noon.
Here are the important details for this last week before spring break:
Wednesday March 6th – Vancouver Art Gallery Field Trip
A friendly reminder that students need to be in the covered area by 8am in order for us to take attendance and get to the public bus stop for 8:15am. We will be back at the school by 1pm.
Thursday March 7th – Whistler Ski Trip
A friendly reminder that students need to be at the school by 6am (yes, 6am!) sharp. We will be leaving shortly after. We aim to be back to the school by 5:30pm.
Friday March 8th – Last Day before Spring Break
On this day students will be cleaning up their lockers of any loose papers, forgotten food items and any other odds/ends that can be taken home. A reusable tote bag/grocery bag may come in handy!
Thursday March 28th – Last Supper Presentation
The Grade Seven class has already initiated the preparation process for our annual Last Supper presentation for the school on Holy Thursday. It will take place at 10:45am. All students will be participating in the reading, performing and/or musical accompaniment. If time allows, please have them practice their roles over the break, thank you!
Please join us if you can that day!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mr. Kirkham
